ABOUT

Giraffe Speech & Language Therapy was set up by Cathy Whitehouse in 2016.  Cathy is an Independent Speech and Language Therapist and qualified with a post graduate diploma in Speech and Language Therapy in 2009 from Canterbury Christchurch University. Prior to this she achieved a BA Honours Sociology degree in 2003 from Nottingham University. 

Cathy is a member of the Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists (RCSLT), the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) and the Association of Speech and Language Therapists in Private Practice (ASLTIP).

Experience 

Cathy has 13 years experience in supporting children with a wide range of speech and language difficulties. She spent the first 3 years of her career working for the NHS. She then went on to work in a thriving private practice in Chelsea, London, where she was promoted to the position of Senior Manager responsible for overseeing two clinics, supervising the staff and managing an extremely busy caseload within nursery, school and community clinic settings.  

In 2016 Cathy got married and moved to Hampshire and it seemed the perfect opportunity to set up her own private speech and language therapy practice.  Cathy works with children with a range of communication difficulties and has a specialist interest in speech disorders including developmental verbal dyspraxia (DVD)
